Record-Breaking Expatriate Income in First Week of September

September kicked off with a record surge in expatriate remittances to Bangladesh. In the first seven days of the month, expatriates sent a total of $544.54 million, equivalent to 6,534 crore 48 lakh taka. This marks the highest level of remittances seen since the pandemic. According to Bangladesh Bank data released on Sunday (September 8), an average of $97.42 million was sent daily, significantly higher than August's daily figure of $70.37 million. Comparatively, in September of last year, the daily remittance stood at $44.48 million. This increase signals a positive economic boost.
