The World Bank has committed to providing $3.5 billion to back various reform initiatives launched by Bangladesh's interim government, including efforts in economic policy, digitization, energy, power, and transport sectors. This announcement came during a meeting between World Bank President Ajay Banga and Bangladesh’s interim Chief Adviser, Muhammad Yunus, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session in New York on September 25. The assistance is aimed at accelerating the country’s ongoing reforms and strengthening critical sectors for sustainable growth.
