Remittances Surpass $2.4 Billion in September, Marking a Strong Growth

In September 2024, Bangladesh saw a remarkable increase in remittances, reaching $2.4 billion through official banking channels. This marks the second-highest inflow of expatriate income in a single month over the past four years. June 2024 recorded $2.54 billion in remittances, while the highest was in July 2020, when $2.59 billion was sent. According to a report by Bangladesh Bank, remittances in September 2024 significantly outpaced the $1.33 billion received in the same month last fiscal year, reflecting a strong upward trend.
