US-based Excelerate Energy has announced plans to increase its investments in Bangladesh's energy sector, with a focus on both energy supply and decarbonization efforts. CEO and President Steven Kobos shared the company’s intention to enhance the smooth supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the country, which is crucial for its energy needs.

Excelerate Energy currently operates two offshore floating storage and regasification units (FSRUs) in Bangladesh, contributing 1.1 billion cubic feet of gas—about 34% of the nation's daily gas supply. This move aims to further secure Bangladesh's energy future.
