Bangladesh Hosts 12.2 Million Economic Enterprises, Says BBS

Bangladesh is home to 12.2 million economic enterprises, according to the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS). Among these, 7.6 million are business establishments, while 4.6 million are categorized as economic units. This data was revealed during the preliminary mapping and listing phase for the nation’s fourth economic census, as shared by Project Director SM Shakil Akhter. The census, which spans three years, has an allocated budget of Tk 579 crore, with Tk 234 crore earmarked specifically for the primary survey.
