Astronomers, using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), have discovered a galaxy that formed roughly 600 million years after the Big Bang. Remarkably, this galaxy shares similarities with the Milky Way during its formative years, including a comparable mass. The groundbreaking discovery marks a significant step forward in understanding how galaxies evolved in the early universe. Among the lead researchers is astrophysicist Lamiya Mowla, a Bangladeshi-born astrophysicist and assistant professor at Wellesley College, who played a pivotal role in this exciting study.
