Each year, Bangladeshis spend more than $5 billion seeking medical care abroad, with India and Thailand being the most popular destinations due to their advanced healthcare services. This information was shared by Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur during a workshop titled "Cross-Border Data Flow: A Bangladesh Perspective," co-hosted by the Policy Research Institute of Bangladesh and the World Bank. The trend highlights the growing reliance on foreign healthcare systems for treatment not readily available within the country.
