The United States and European Union (EU) remain Bangladesh's largest markets for ready-made garments, accounting for 69% of its exports. By the end of 2024, exports to these regions saw remarkable growth, marking a significant recovery for the country’s garment sector.
Data from Eurostat and the US Department of Commerce's Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) revealed that Bangladesh exported $1.53 billion worth of garments to the EU in November 2024, a 24% increase compared to the same month in 2023. Meanwhile, exports to the US reached $610 million in November, showing an impressive 41% year-on-year growth.
This surge highlights the growing demand for Bangladeshi garments in these key global markets.
