Bangladesh has made a strong comeback in garment exports to the US market after a long time. In January, Bangladeshi exporters shipped ready-made garments worth $800 million to the US—a 45.93% increase compared to the same month last year. This marks the highest growth rate among leading garment-exporting nations, surpassing China, Vietnam, Indonesia, and India.

The latest data from the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) under the US Department of Commerce reveals this significant rise. According to their report, the US imported $7.2 billion worth of ready-made garments from various countries in January this year, compared to $6.03 billion in January last year. This reflects a 19.5% overall growth in the US apparel import market.
