WELL WORKIn November 2019, Ky Chin The (Dolly) stepped away from his role as Country Director at the globally renowned American company MGF Sourcing to start his own buying house business. He began with a small team and set out to secure orders by traveling across Europe and America. Just as the wheels of his new venture were beginning to turn, the coronavirus pandemic struck, disrupting plans and halting progress.
By March 2020, as the outbreak worsened, Dolly was forced to close his office and send employees home. Using his savings, he ensured his team’s salaries and office rent were covered. After three and a half months, he reopened but faced months of struggle with no major purchase orders. Despite these challenges, he remained resilient. His perseverance finally paid off when a substantial order came through, marking the turning point for his business and setting the stage for continuous growth.
