Japan Takes Lead in Financing Bangladesh's Deep Sea Port Project

Wahiduddin Mahmud

Wahiduddin Mahmud, Planning and Education Advisor, announced that Japan will finance the construction of a deep sea port in Bangladesh, after much speculation over whether China or India would take on the project. Mahmud emphasized that Japan's favorable loan terms played a key role in the decision. Japan has a history of timely project completion in Bangladesh, and if there are unused funds from the current project, they will be reallocated to other developments. This move solidifies Japan’s ongoing role in supporting Bangladesh’s infrastructure growth.
