LNG Cargo from UK Set to Arrive to Meet Energy Demand
WELL WORKTo help meet the country’s growing energy needs, the government has approved the purchase of one cargo of LNG from the spot market. The cost of importing this shipment from the UK will be Tk 485 crore 25 lakh 97 thousand 841.
Meeting sources said the Energy and Mineral Resources Department proposed buying this LNG cargo (the 45th, scheduled for November 11–12, 2025) through an international bidding process under the Public Procurement Rules, 2008. The proposal was reviewed and later approved by the Advisory Council Committee.
