Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue (NBR) has introduced an online tax return filing system, allowing taxpayers to file their income tax returns from the comfort of home. This move aims to reduce corruption by limiting in-person interactions between taxpayers and tax officials, a measure economists and experts have long advocated. With the new service, taxpayers can now easily register, input their income and expense details, and submit their returns online for the current tax year. NBR hopes this digital service will encourage more people to file their returns conveniently and securely.
