Just a few years ago, farmers would throw away branches from papaya trees after picking the fruit. Now, those same branches—along with discarded canes from mango and neem trees, patchouli grass, and neelkantha flowers—are being turned into pet food and toys for international markets. These once-useless materials are now bringing in valuable foreign income.
The man behind this innovative idea is Rahmatul Islam, a local entrepreneur who has shown how waste can become wealth. He set up a factory called Bold Partners Limited in Jagla, a remote village in Magura. There, underprivileged women from the village work to create eco-friendly products for pets. The factory has created jobs for about 500 people, both directly and indirectly, and is helping to change lives while protecting the planet.
